World Alliance AI Workshop: From AI Spend to AI Returns

The World Alliance invites its community and partners to a new World Alliance Expert Workshop, entitled “From AI Spend to AI Returns: Building the Trust and Business Case for AI Adoption,” led by Dr. Ashish Kakar.
As investment in artificial intelligence continues to accelerate, organizations face an increasingly important question: how can AI adoption translate into tangible and sustainable value?
The workshop will examine the conditions required to move AI initiatives from experimentation to meaningful business impact, with a particular focus on trust, credible business cases, return on investment, and the role of financial centres in accelerating responsible AI adoption.
From experimentation to measurable value
While organizations across industries are investing heavily in AI, many initiatives still struggle to progress beyond the pilot stage. The workshop will explore what differentiates successful AI deployments from projects that fail to generate meaningful returns.
Participants will discuss several key questions:
- Why do so many AI pilots fail to deliver value, and what do successful initiatives do differently?
- What does a trusted AI adoption pathway look like, and how can financial centres contribute to building the necessary trust frameworks?

- What challenges are currently slowing AI adoption, and how can the financial sector help overcome them?
- How can financial centres act as catalysts for AI growth and help their financial institutions generate sustainable returns from AI investment?
Beyond technology itself, the discussion will highlight the importance of governance, organizational readiness, trust and clearly defined business objectives in determining whether AI investments ultimately create value.
The role of financial centres
Financial centres occupy a unique position within the AI ecosystem. By bringing together financial institutions, technology companies, regulators, investors, policymakers and other stakeholders, they can help establish the conditions required for responsible innovation and effective AI deployment.
The workshop will therefore consider not only how individual organizations can strengthen their AI strategies, but also how financial centres can support their ecosystems in moving from AI adoption to AI value creation.
