Earth Forum 2025 aims to discuss how Hong Kong can cement its position as a premier destination for cross-boundary capital flows by enhancing its appeal for green issuers and investors on equity and debt markets. This can be done by aligning with a globally recognised standard, fostering transparency, and building a strong foundation of skills and expertise in sustainability reporting, from which Hong Kong can strengthen investor confidence and boost its global appeal. Additionally, a robust ecosystem that supports trusted, high-quality disclosures and capacity building will enable businesses to meet international investors’ expectations, which will, in turn, solidify Hong Kong’s role as a leading hub for future-proof financing and investment activities.
This forum will focus on the following core areas:
1.The Importance of ISSB Standards for Global Sustainability Reporting
- How can the ISSB Standards ensure consistent, comparable, and high-quality sustainability reporting across markets?
- What role will Hong Kong play in driving the adoption of these standards, attracting global investors, and supporting the green transition?
2. The Role of Capacity Building in Advancing Sustainable Finance Market
- What capacity-building measures, such as professional training and data enhancement, are necessary to empower businesses and professionals?
