WAIFC Delegation Visits Osaka for a Special Meeting
WAIFC recently visited Osaka for an exceptional meeting with the prefectural government, aimed at strengthening international financial collaboration. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Governor Mr. Yoshimura and Deputy Mayor Mr. Takahashi Toru, who shared Osaka’s strategic plans and presented the upcoming Expo 2025, which will focus on health and well-being.
WAIFC representatives showcased the organization’s initiatives, which unite international financial centers from multiple continents to promote global financial development. Discussions highlighted potential synergies between WAIFC’s objectives and Osaka’s ambitions to elevate its financial center as a key player in the global finance landscape.
The visit also included a meeting with representatives of the International Financial Promotion of Osaka, where collaborative efforts were discussed to enhance the appeal and competitiveness of Osaka’s financial district. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about innovative initiatives, including a presentation by the Managing Director of Japanese Fintech Association, Tomomicho Takao, preceded by insights from the Director of Bloomberg Japan.
To conclude the day, the delegation visited Nakanoshima Qross, further enriching the experience and offering a glimpse into one of Osaka’s key development projects.
