WAIFC participates at Astana Finance Days and Astana International Forum

WAIFC recently took part in the Astana Finance Days and the Astana International Forum, two prestigious events held in Kazakhstan.

These events provided a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss the future of finance, cryptocurrency regulation, and the role of human capital in driving innovation.

The Astana Finance Days, organized by our member the Astana International Financial Centre, featured WAIFC's Managing Director, Dr. Jochen Biedermann, as a prominent participant. Dr. Biedermann had the honor of moderating a panel discussion titled "Future of Crypto Regulation: Discussion with Experts Representing Academia and Industry." This session, held from 12:00 to 12:50, focused on addressing the pressing need for effective regulations in the cryptocurrency industry.

Alongside esteemed speakers Athena Miao, Rosa Maria Lastra, Sopnendu Mohanty, Ben Zhou, Zain Umer, Jesse Knutson, and Amjad Qaqish, Dr. Jochen Biedermann delved into the emerging trends and challenges surrounding crypto regulations. In parallel, WAIFC's Head of Marketing, Badr Boussabat, participated in a panel discussion titled "How Human Capital Drives Innovation: Building Collaboration within Ecosystems." Moreover, the Managing Director of WAIFC, Jochen Biedermann, later participated in the Plenary Session of the Astana International Forum 2023, which commenced with President Tokayev delivering a compelling Welcome Address.
